LGBTQIA+ Police Engagement Survey
Peoria County’s LGBTQIA+ community is diverse, resilient, and deeply invested in building a safer, more inclusive future for all. However, engagement between LGBTQIA+ residents and law enforcement has historically been marked by mistrust, underrepresentation, and inconsistent support. Peoria Proud is committed to addressing these realities through community-driven research and dialogue. This survey is part of that ongoing work—an effort to better understand how LGBTQIA+ individuals in Peoria County experience and perceive interactions with law enforcement.
The goal of this survey is to identify any existing gaps, barriers, or challenges in how law enforcement serves or engages with the LGBTQIA+ community. By gathering this data, Peoria Proud hopes to better advocate for policies, training, and practices that lead to more equitable and affirming outcomes. We believe community safety should include everyone—and we’re committed to using your feedback to push for meaningful change.
Any personal information collected in this survey is strictly for demographic purposes and will remain confidential. Your voice matters, and your participation helps ensure that efforts toward justice and safety in Peoria are rooted in the real experiences of those most impacted.
